Waiting on Wednesday: My Lady Jane

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. It showcases all those no-yet-published books that we can’t wait to read!

This week’s ‘Waiting On Wednesday’ pick is:

Title: My Lady Jane

Author: Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ahston and Jodi Meadows

Genre: Historical Fiction, Young Adult, Fantasy

Publication Date:  June 7th, 2016

My Lady Jane

For fans of The Princess Bride comes the comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey.
Lady Jane Grey, sixteen, is about to be married to a total stranger—and caught up in an insidious plot to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But that’s the least of Jane’s problems. She’s about to become Queen of England. Like that could go wrong.

This seems like a fun book to read! A historical fiction with a dash of humour and a sprinkle of magic 😛 I haven’t read much historical fiction, but I’m trying to expand my genres I read.

Plus, it’s been co-authored by three authors! I’ve heard of two authors writing a book together, but not three.

What’s your WoW pick this week? Are you looking forward to My Lady Jane too?

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Waiting on Wednesday: Love, Lies and Spies by Cindy Anstey

‘Waiting on Wednesday’ was started by ‘Breaking the Spine’ and spotlights those not-yet-released books that I just can’t wait to read!

Title: Love, Lies and Spies

Author: Cindy Anstey

Genre: Historical Fiction, Young Adult

Publication Date: April 19th, 2016

Love, Lies and Spies

Juliana Telford is not your average nineteenth-century young lady. She’s much more interested in researching ladybugs than marriage, fashionable dresses, or dances. So when her father sends her to London for a season, she’s determined not to form any attachments. Instead, she plans to secretly publish their research.
Spencer Northam is not the average young gentleman of leisure he appears. He is actually a spy for the War Office, and is more focused on acing his first mission than meeting eligible ladies. Fortunately, Juliana feels the same, and they agree to pretend to fall for each other. Spencer can finally focus, until he is tasked with observing Juliana’s travelling
companions . . .   and Juliana herself.

I absolutely love the cover for this one, it’s just so pretty! And the title – Love, lies and spies? It’s just the perfect combination. This book seems to be really witty and charming, with a cute romance to boot! And I’m already sure I’ll love the characters 🙂
